My father was a career Air Force officer having served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Therefore, I am what is affectionately referred to as a military “Brat”. I attended 15 different schools in 12 years of secondary education. I have lived in St Louis, Mo, Long Island, N.Y., New Jersey, Maine, Illinois, Guam, South Carolina, Montana, Memphis, TN., Denver, Co, Ft. Worth, TX. , and Heidelberg, Germany.
I have travelled through all of the lower 48, France, Spain, and did a tour of duty in Turkey while in the US Army. While stationed at Ft Devens, Massachusetts I met Gaby. She was born in New Brunswick, Canada and is fluent in French and English. We’ve been married 43 years, have 2 grown adults and 1 grand-daughter.
With all that travelling growing up, it was probably inevitable that we would become full timers and hit the road. In 1998 we sold everything, bought a motor home and took the plunge. We’ve never looked back. What a great way to live.
We had our own solar screen business for 10 years. 9/15/2010 we started working as Gate Guards in Texas.
We left Gate Guarding in July 2017 and finally retired to Tulsa, Ok in 2018.

Bob…for some reason I can’t find your email address. However, I had the same problem with my WP site and the comment button. It still doesn’t appear on your “Test” blog. My other suggestion is to check your widgets and make sure they are in order.

Pretty cool blog Bob. Speaking of your “brat” days…You’d never recognize Shaw AFB these days. I sent you a photo of your old house, but there many more changes. The new BX is where enlisted family housing used to be and the golf course has been extended to where the on base officers quarters were before. There’s a lake where the gas station was when we lived there. I’ll get more pictures when I go out there and have some time.
