Phobia

“The world had been taking slow bites of him his whole life” – The Passage by Justin Cronin

Phobia – a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it.

At first I thought it was paranoia, but that didn’t accurately define my current state of mind.

My early life as a Military Brat was all about change. 4 years here. 2 years there. In the Pacific – American Deep South – Europe – Western US – Middle East. I’ve been everywhere man – I’ve been everywhere. And loved it. On to the next adventure. Wow.

What a life.

Now that I’ve matured (aged-grown old) I’ve developed a fear of change. That sense of adventure has vanished. Change is bad. I want things to stay the way they are.

Folks, I have a phobia.

The flux in the oil field is beginning to really irritate me.

Trepidation……………….Damn your hide.

I want my friends back. My security. My faith in tomorrow.

“The setting of the sun didn’t hide iniquity; it revealed it, as with kicking over a rotted log.” – “House of the Rising Sun” by James Lee Burke

You can always have faith in tomorrow, it will always be there.

I don’t see myself as a conspiracist, but I find it hard to believe that somewhere a few folks aren’t “jerking the strings”. Oil and coal are on the outs as the PTB have vilified them as “dirty” fuels. Just chew on the fact that either Clinton, Trump or Cruz will be our next president. I don’t see much changing.
