“Life is unbearably perverse: that which we most seek to avoid always becomes unavoidable.” – From “The Barkeep” by William Lashner
I don’t think I’m a spiritual kind of guy. Generally speaking, if I can’t see it or touch it, well then, I’m probably going to pass. Thus, spiritual matters and ancient tales of bizarre occurrences have no credibility with me.
However, there is a crack in the foundation. I suspect, big word suspect, that sometimes, between certain people, a connection exists that is difficult to explain. You can’t see it or touch it, but you most certainly can experience it.
Articles have been written about a special bond that twins have. They seem to think, act, and react identically. Stretch your mind a bit and that seems somewhat plausible.
Don’t know what to think about that one. People believe it’s real. I sort of do. Like when two people are thinking the same thing at the same time. But, you know, it could be just coincidence. That at least is an explanation.
There are connections that have no explanation. What exactly attracts lovers? And what bonds them with a secret only they understand? I believe there are those rare connections that defy everything we collectively have learned since the dawn of time.
Couples who experience that connection are so lucky. It’s a rare thing. Imagine the terrible waste of having it and not recognizing it. Can there be anything sadder?
I’ll tell you this – you can never close that book. It will always be a part of you. It’s in your DNA.
And for the life of me, I just don’t understand it.
Life – just when you think you’ve got it all figured – there will always be something else.
“It’s an amazing thing when you fall in love with yourself for the first time. When you see the beauty that was always there.” – From “Before the Fall” by Stephen Romano
