“A man with no moral center, however, does not know what he does not know and you can never explain it to him.” – From “The Drop” by Dennis Lehane

I don’t watch the news. I don’t care about the news.

Now, if I believed that the news was fair, honest, unbiased, accurate, and complete………well……that’s another story.

Is there anyone out there who believes that the news, as reported in the media, meets even one of those requirements?

Well then……………………………why watch it? Or read it? Or even talk about it? Or pass the contents off to anyone else as worth discussing?

Some tell me…………..”Well you need to know what’s going on in the world.”

Really!!! Tell you what………………I agree. We all need to know how the world turns. So, where can I find the truth?

Tell me that. ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN. I think not. They are all nothing more than purveyors of another’s agenda.

There was a time during my misguided youth when my faith in leaders who gave lip service to my beliefs was fairly strong.

Well, that naiveté evaporated some time ago.

Can anyone name any member of any branch of our current government with a moral center?

My journey to tune the world out is gaining speed and building momentum.

I only have a few years left on the planet.

My objective, my desire, my salvation is to cleanse my soul, focus on my family and friends, and that’s it.

So bomb Syria. Or don’t. I care but there isn’t a damn thing I can do about it.

“But we all do what we can to avoid thinking too much about it.” “Before the Fall” by Stephen Romano

  2. It sure is hard to know what to believe, if anything. Or anybody. My real battle is to figure out which new phone I should get. 😄

I am not sure religion and God should be used in the same sentence. I don’t know all the members of our government so I can’t comment on their moral center. I hope we never get to the point where we all believe the same thing. I also do not watch the news, too depressing. If I wanted to start each day felling bad, I’ll just review my life. Enough material there to last a life time.

I doubt you carry any more baggage than the rest of us. The Harry I know today is a great guy and a good human being. That’s what matters now.

You neglected to mention the fallacy and long con that is religion today. I couldn’t agree more with your OP.

I didn’t forget, I chose not to get into the religious aspect of modern BS. Just another can of worms. As you said though – it is a big con. If I was God I’d be really pissed off given the treatment man doles out in his name.
