Tito

“I never pray on a golf course. Actually, the Lord answers my prayers everywhere except on the course.” ~ Billy Graham

Hi. My name is Tito Muya. I’m from Kenya and I have lived in this country for 17 years. I’m here on a permanent work visa but I want to become an American citizen.

I married an American girl and we live in Ft. Worth, TX.  While soccer was my first sport, I’m falling in love with American football. Hook em horns.

I speak 3 languages: English, Swahili, and Kenyan. English is a primary language in Kenya and is taught in school.

17 years ago I started working with a housekeeping company in Ft. Worth. About 18 months ago I began a new career working in the oil field for Newalta. Without going into detail, suffice to say we service oil drilling rigs.

I met Tito as he moved through our gate. As the days and weeks passed, we became friends and had interesting conversations about America, Kenya, and the oil drilling business.

We talked about one of my favorite TV series – “Big Cat Diary.” Turns out he’s from that area in Kenya where the series is filmed and he is very familiar with it. How cool is that?

Today is his last day on this rig. I probably will never see him again. So sad.

  1. There are lots of interesting people out there. I bet it was interesting to talk with this man.

Tough when friends GO. I do not do well with that at all. Would have thought years of ‘brat good-byes’ would have numbed me a bit…but did the opposite. Wishing Tito well on his life journey.

I believe we “brats” had to say so many sad goodbyes that the finality of it is now much more brutal. With Tito, I had many more questions I wanted to ask.
